The Healing Art of Touch
Facilitating Healing and Balance in Mind, Body & Spirit

Massage and Bodywork have been a part of the human experience for thousands of years arising from humankind's natural instinct to soothe pain with touch.  Recently, there has been a renewed interest in the popularity of natural healing arts.  In addition to feeling good, massage and bodywork can provide significant wellness and health benefits:

*It can help soothe sore muscles, maintain muscle tone and relieve pain and stiffness in joints

*It can promote circulation and elimination of toxins by facilitating the return of blood to the heart and enhancing the flow of lymph fluid through the body

*It can have a deeply relaxing, stimulating or energizing effect on the nervous system depending on the type and duration of treatment

*It can heighten body awareness and sensation thereby aiding in the integration of mind, body and spirit

*It promotes enhancement of health and well-being by reducing stress and fulfilling the need for supportive, respectful and nurturing human contact

*It can reduce pain, increase range of motion, facilitate healing and even stimulate the immune system

This type of work is similar to therapeutic massage but treatment is prescribed by a physician for a specific condition, diagnosis, or injury such as whiplash, spasm, arthritis, or carpal tunnel syndrome.
